When evaluating your internal processes for efficiency, I place a large emphasis on getting the most value out of each unit of work being performed. This involves eliminating duplication of efforts and consolidating like-minded tasks. You simply can't spend money on efforts than have already been performed.
Similarly, you must ensure all resources are being fully utilized. If you have reactional employees (workload determined by call or customer volume) identified goal-oriented tasks should be designated and reviewed. An example of this would be to have your reception staff manage other office administration tasks, when no clients are scheduled.
You have good information on how to give a proper consideration for employees so that they work well.
